Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month – a month where people all over America stand together with Feeding America and the nationwide network of food banks to fight hunger. It’s a month to spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis. I was lead on this campaign and responsible for all print, digital, and promotional merchandise.

Fill the Fridge

Fill the fridge is a non perishable food drive that provides kid-friendly items for struggling families within the community, that takes place during Hunger Action Month. 41 Action News, Harvesters, and Price Chopper are all a part of this drive and aim to make sure school children have a table full of nutritious food at home. 19,740 pounds was collected at this year’s Fill the Fridge Food Drive, which is the highest ever in Fill the Fridge history!

The Outcome:

2018’s Hunger Action Month was truly a record-breaking year. 19,740 pounds were collected at the Fill the Fridge Food Drive, which is the highest ever in Fill the Fridge history. There were 17,040 volunteer hours in September, that’s almost a 6,000-hour increase over 2017. And 328,000 Meals, which is 28,00 more than last year, was brought in during the month of September. The design and marketing of this campaign really catapulted its successes. The overall look and feel were bright and photo focused which helped bring attention to the cause.
